School-children are calling for action, customers demand environmental-friendly products, institutional investors move towards long term investment and regulators regulate. But, what can we expect from the business society? How can companies contribute, and how can and should corporate directors contribute to achieving the UN Global Compact Sustainable Development Goals?

Financial Times Special Report on Sustainable Finance, 5 December 2018. Please find editorial commentary by Turid E. Solvang, Founder and CEO, FutureBoards here

The Nordic corporate governance model is typically regarded as a North Star when it comes to openness, trust and responsibility. Yet, the recent Danske Bank scandal across the Nordics and the Baltics has painted a different picture.

The €200bn money laundering scandal has so far resulted in criminal investigations in the US, Denmark and Estonia, as well as costing the jobs of chief executive Thomas Borgen and members of his top management team. And scrutiny is now being directed towards the ousted chairman and members of the board.

Les innlegget her.

Les innlegget her

January 2018, 25th anniversary of the UK corporate Governance Code, Blog post by Turid Elisabeth Solvang

In times of great uncertainty and rapid change, we need strong standards. Corporate governance codes provide good guidance. But while companies and capital markets become more and more globalized and integrated, standards for good corporate governance remain shaped by local ownership structures and founded on national legislation, culture and traditions. Les artikkelen her

When it comes to corporate governance, a fundamental shift is emerging
NABR+2_2017+FutureBoards+Article.jpg

Interview with Turid Elisabeth Solvang, Founder & CEO FutureBoards - Norway Asia Business Review 2/2017

“There is more focus on corporate governance and the public has new expectations to business conduct, responsiveness and responsibility. Board members, though insignificant in number, make very significant decisions on behalf of companies, and these decisions affect not only the companies and their employees and customers, but also society around them. So, more people should care about corporate governance, about who are sitting on those boards, and what they contribute.”

Er norske styrer digitalt ansvarlige?
#06/17 - Digitalisering

#06/17 - Digitalisering

Magma, nr 6/2017; Turid Elisabeth Solvang

Les artikkelen her.
